Having concrete goals and objectives from the outset is essential to the best success of your project. To help you define these goals and objectives, consider the following questions:

• What do you use your property for? (Entertaining? Relaxing? Family fun?)
• What do you dislike about your property right now? (Sound pollution? Maintenance difficulty? Wasted space?)
• What do you like about your property right now? (Consider features you’d like to build on or around, such as large trees, spectacular views, or natural water features)
• Do you have a wish list? If not, create one! (Try using these categories: hardscape, plantings, lighting, water feature)
