VisionScape's Landscape Design Process

Landscape Design Process

VisionScape’s landscape design process was developed to engage, educate and empower their clients to make the most of their landscape investment.
This is just a short overview of the process:

1. Master Designer Initial Meeting

The first part in the landscape design process is a meeting with your Master Designer.
Master Designer Initial Meetings are held via a Web Conference or a Telephone call with the following objectives:

  1. Establish Landscape Objectives

  2. Discuss Landscape Installation Strategies

  3. Set Landscape Budgets

An entire landscape design team will work on your project, which consists of:

  • Master Landscape Designer – field experienced manager of your project

  • Horticulturist

  • Engineers

  • Architects – Note: Even though VisionScape has Architects on your design team, VisionScape does not provide Architectural Services.

2. Field Survey

VisionScape must perform an Onsite Field Survey for every landscape design project. This is where VisionScape performs the following:

  1. Collect any existing property survey documentation, such as a tax map.

  2. Measure and locate existing property features.

  3. Perform a drainage analysis.

  4. Take soil samples to determine soil conditions and type.

  5. Identify sun and shade patterns.

  6. Perform a comprehensive photo survey.

The information collected is then uploaded to your online account.

3. Master Designer Concept Meeting

On this meeting your Master Designer will present your Base Plan. It pictures the current situation of your property, based on the previous Field Survey. Now you, in collaboration with your Master Designer are developing a concept drawing in our real-time screen sharing environment. This is the real power of VisionScape’s Design Process.

The results of the meeting will then be passed onto your design team for development of your Hardscape Plan.

4. Hardscape Presentation

Shortly thereafter… Your Master Designer will present to you, a Hardscape Plan for review. Your Hardscape Plan is the most crucial plan in your new landscape design. Hardscape plans typically contain the big ticket items; and are the foundation for the rest of the landscape design process.

5. Landscape Design Revisions

Revisions are a natural part of the landscape design process. As in your Master Designer Concept Meeting, Your master Designer will work to illustrate and layout different possibilities.

This process will continue until you have approved your Hardscape plan. At VisionScape we do not limit your number of revisions. We are here to help you achieve your perfect landscape.

6. The Process Continues…

Using the same process as with your Hardscape Plan, we now move on to the following phases of your landscape planning:

  • Water Feature Plan

  • Planting Plan

  • Lighting Plan

  • Irrigation Plan

7. Landscape Design Visual Aids

If you have elected to have either a 2D Artist Rendering of your landscape or a 3D Perspective…VisionScape will now create these eye popping Visual Aids.

8. Production of Remaining Landscape Design Deliverables

VisionScape will now produce the following items:

  • Custom Landscape Maintenance Handbook

  • Itemized Materials List

  • Master Landscape Plan

  • Landscape Design Title Sheet

  • Company Coupons and Incentives

Now that you have completed the VisionScape Landscape Design Process, VisionScape will print and ship your full size landscape design documents as well as upload all deliverables to your online account for download and contractor bidding.
